Traditional mini meatballs with yogurt sauce
Traditional mini meatballs with yogurt sauce
  • 750g ground beef
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 small bread rusks
  • 2 onions
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of oregano
  • 1 pinch of sweet red pepper
  • 200g Kri Kri strained yogurt
  • Some garlic
  • 30gr butter
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying

  1. Soak the bread rusks for 10 minutes.
  2. Rub onions.
  3. Mix well with your hands the ground beef with the bread rusks, onions, olive oil, egg, oregano, salt and pepper. Knead until combined.
  4. Leave the mixture calm for an hour and then make small, just bite sized, ball.
  5. Pan the meatballs until firm and lightly browned.
  6. In another pan melt the butter. Add the red pepper and when the mixture is slightly warm, mix the yogurt, salt and some garlic.
  7. Serve the meatballs with the white sauce.
